Each year, the Haynesville Shale Bass Tournament and its governing
organization, Chesapeake Employees for Haynesville Communities (CEHC),
work to conduct an industry bass tournament in a fun, family friendly
atmosphere that will benefit non-profit organizations dedicated to the
betterment of the children in the Haynesville Shale area of East Texas
and Northwest Louisiana. The tournament was designed to bring the
community of natural gas and oil professionals in Haynesville Shale
together in the spirit of sportsmanship and charitable giving. As a
one-day, 150-person event in its first year, the tournament experienced
substantial success and has now been expanded to two days and 300
anglers.
In 2010, the two-person Haynesville Shale Bass Tournament raised $20,000 for Gingerbread House and Cara Center,
child abuse advocacy groups located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Each
year the CEHC Board meets with various non-profit organizations in the
community to choose the group that will receive the proceeds from the
tournament. A different organization is chosen each year to ensure all
parts of Haynesville Shale region and all types of agencies benefit from
our efforts. To learn more about the Haynesville Shale Bass
Tournament, please visit their new website designed by Gremillion and Pou and programmed by 305 Spin at www.haynesvillebass.org.
